Dayton woman killed, two injured in Ramsey accident

Alcohol was apparently a factor in an accident that killed a Dayton woman Oct. 28 in Ramsey.
According to the police report, 26-year-old Amber Boettcher was driving her 1998 Dodge Stratus eastbound on Highway 10 and then turned north on Alpine Drive, near the Elk River border, in front of a 1997 Buick LaSabre driven by 46-year-old Stacy Miller of Zimmerman.
When the car accident occurred around 4 p.m., neither Boettcher or her passenger 37-year-old Brian Woodfill of Ramsey were wearing seat belts.
Boettcher was taken to Mercy Hospital and later died.
Woodfill was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
Miller was taken to Mercy Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, alcohol was detected on Boettcher.
While the tests are still pending, “it was apparent that alcohol may have been a factor,” said Ramsey Police Capt. Tim Dwyer.
The State Patrol and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Officer is investigating the accident.
