Rogers narcotics search nets at least one arrest

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 27-year-old Plymouth man on Oct. 25 during a narcotics investigation in Rogers.
Sheriff’s office investigators executed a search warrant at Piecemakers, a store in the 21000 block of South Diamond Lake Road in Rogers. They found approximately 400 containers of what is suspected to be synthetic marijuana.  Investigators arrested a 27-year-old man who was working as the cashier at the store.  He was booked into the Hennepin County Jail on probable cause narcotics. The case is being reviewed for possible charges.
In July, a new Minnesota law banned specific substances in designer synthetic drugs and similar chemical alternatives.
“It’s important to eliminate the sales and supplies of synthetic drugs because they are part of a dangerous and growing drug market in the metro,” said Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek. “People should be cautious of product labels that falsely claim a substance is legal and safe — when the product is actually an illegal synthetic narcotic.”
The case is part of an ongoing investigation.
