Bill and Kelly Matthews of Elk River announce the birth of their daughter, Kathryn Rose, Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton. She weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces.
Grandparents are Jeff and Beth Smith and Randy and Julie Goldenman of Zimmerman and the Rev. Bill  Matthews of Elk River. Great-grandparents are Sally Smith  and Bill and Betty Matthews of Elk River.
