Ronald James Bauman, 50, of Princeton, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at Regions Medical Center, St. Paul. He was born Nov. 10, 1960, at Dickinson, N.D., to Melvin and Violet (Schaff) Bauman. He grew up and was educated at Beulah, N.D. He worked construction after graduating from high school and then entered the National Guard. He worked for MDU in Beulah for a time, before moving to Hutchinson in 1986, where he continued working construction. In 1987, Mr. Bauman began working for Great River Energy, living in Champlin until moving to Zimmerman in 1989. He and Tammy Heilman were married Dec. 15, 1989, in Elk River. They moved to Princeton in 1998. He continued working with Great River and was employed as a control room operator. According to his family, the Bauman home was the hub of their neighborhood and Mr. Bauman enjoyed sitting around the fire-pit telling stories and jokes. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, riding his Harley, and working on projects with family and friends. He loved being with his children and making them smile all the time. The funeral was held Saturday, Oct. 22 at Christ Our Light Catholic Parish – North Campus, Princeton. Williams Dingmann Funeral Home of Princeton made the arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Tammy, of Princeton; son, Cody; daughter, Taylor; mother, Violet Jochim of Beulah; siblings, Rick (Valerie) of Beulah, Roger (Cathy) of Bismarck, Renae (Tim) Morton of Beulah, Johnny Jochim and friend, Dorie of Casselton, and Jolene (Ryan) Rust of Mercer, N.D.; mother-in-law, Judi Current (Ron Zaretzke) of Mesa, Ariz.; father-in-law, Leroy Heilman of Wilton, N.D.; step-father-in-law, Steven Current of Shelby, Mont.; and brother-in-law, Jeff (Jen) Heilman of Wilton, N.D.; numerous nephews and nieces; and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin; his step-father, John Jochim; brother, Randy; and a nephew, Aaron Bauman.
