Elk River thanks interim city administrator
Bob Thistle, Elk River’s interim city administrator, has been recognized as he wraps up his work in the city.
At the Monday, Oct. 17, City Council meeting, Mayor John Dietz thanked Thistle for his contributions.
“To me, the sign of a good manager is one who leaves a place better off than when he got there,” Dietz said. “Bob has certainly done that in Elk River.”
The council and Finance Director Tim Simon, Police Chief Brad Rolfe and Fire Chief John Cunningham also thanked Thistle.
Thistle said local government is his passion.
He has served as the interim city administrator since July 6 while the city worked to fill the position permanently. Cal Portner, Elk River’s new city administrator, began work Oct. 17.
