River’s Edge Art Crawl coming to downtown Thursday
by Bruce Strand, Arts editor
Twenty-four creative individuals engaged in a wide variety of arts will team with 16 local businesses to present the second annual Rivers Edge Art Crawl in downtown Elk River on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 5 to 9 p.m.
“We are looking forward to a nice evening and lots of people strolling about,” said John Stander, director of the Arts Alliance. “We had a very good turnout last year. We were surprised by the number of people who turned out and how long they stayed.”
The timetable was changed an hour later than last year (when it was 4 to 8 p.m.) to accommodate the many customers who wanted to stay longer.
Lively street music, a la New Orleans, will be provided by the Mariachi Band. A wine-tasting event will be held at the Arts Alliance Gallery. Face-painting for children will be offered at the gallery from 5 to 7 p.m.
The event is sponsored by The Rivers Edge Downtown Business Association, Elk River Area Arts Alliance, and Elk River Parks and Recreation.
