CROP Walk raises money to fight hunger

More than 100 walkers turned out Oct. 9 for the annual CROP Walk, which was held at a new time of year and a new location.

Jenny Gray (left), the executive director of CAER, walked with her granddaughter Macy during the this past weekend’s CROP Walk to raise money and food in the fight against hunger locally and abroad.

The walkers raised more than $7,700, which was down from more than $12,000 raised last year. About 2,800 pounds of food was also collected, which also was down from last year’s total that came in at 6,491 pounds. The Crossing Church brought in 2,200 pounds of the food that was collected.
