Minnesota School of Business-Elk River is the recipient of the 2011 Outstanding Organization Award. The Minnesota Community Education Association granted the award to recognize the campus’ continued partnership with District 728 Community Education.
“To have a partnership that has been successful and meeting such great people who give back to the community has been a wonderful experience for all of our staff here at ISD 728 Community Education and ECFE,” said Julia Nielsen, assistant marketing manager for District 728 Community Education.
Nielsen and Noella Fath-Cutter, also from Community Education, nominated the campus for this award based on several projects Minnesota School of Business and Community Education have worked on together.
These include several service-learning projects, junior veterinary technician camps, criminal justice CSI camps, and a community service day where 30 employees from the Elk River campus beautified the Early Childhood Family Education outdoor nature classroom at Handke Center in Elk River.
“Never in a million years did I think our day of playing in the dirt and the fun our instructors have leading the community education camps would win us an award,” said Kayla Stai, communications and community relations specialist at Minnesota School of Business. “We are so grateful to Community Education for their partnership and for thinking of us for this outstanding award.”
Minnesota School of Business will accept the award on Oct. 27 during the Minnesota Community Education Association’s Fall Conference.
