Tennis: Rogers has 2 champs, 3 runners-up in Miss. 8 tournament

The Rogers Royals picked up two championships and three runner-up finishes in the Mississippi 8 Conference tournament on Saturday.

Sarah Kornavitch was champion at No. 3 singles, going 3-0 and winning a close finals match against a Monticello player 4-6, 7-6, 10-3.

Sarah Kornovitch was champion at No. 3 singles.

Gina Peppin and Rachel Dodd were champions at No. 1 singles, beating a St. Michael-Albertville team in the finals.

Danielle Anderson was runner-up at No. 1 singles, winning twice before losing to Buffalo’s Mackinzie Rite.

Bailey Kolles was runner-up at No. 2 singles, winning twice before losing to a Monticello player.

The No. 2 doubles team of Katie Meyer and Julia Sporer were runners-up, losing to Buffalo in the finals.

Singles action was held at Monticello, and doubles were at St. Michael-Albertville.
