Lorraine I. (Luby) Bodnar, 83, of Elk River, died peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011.
She retired from the United States Postal Service after 20 years of service at the Elk River post office. After retirement Mrs. Bodnar worked as an assistant on the special needs buses for the Elk River School District.
She was an active member for a number of years in the women’s auxiliary, Elk River Legion and was a board member of the St. Andrew Church Council.
Her first love was her family followed closely by golf, fishing and playing cards with family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was Thursday, Sept. 22 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Elk River. Interment was at St. Pius X Cemetery, Zimmerman. Arrangements were made by Dare’s Funeral Home of Elk River.
Survivors include her children, Joseph Jr., Larry (Amy), Kristine (Craig) Larson, Carol Miller, Thomas (Judy), John, Michael, and Michele (Robert) Olson; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Millie and Ann; and brother, Dan.
Mrs. Bodnar was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Joseph; brothers, Donald, Maurice Jr., Melvin, and Howard; sister, Kathleen; and son-in-law, Scot Miller.
Memorials are preferred.
