Six-year-old Jack Randolph couldn’t wait for the new Hardee’s to open in Rogers.
A first grader at Hassan Elementary, Jack has been closely watching the restaurant being built this summer. His mom, Natasha Randolph, said they have driven by whenever they leave their house in Rogers to see the progress.
At one point she contacted Hardee’s, asking when it was opening, because Jack was so excited.
Natasha said she was delighted, and surprised, when she received a phone call from a Hardee’s general manager, asking Jack to be the first official customer of the Rogers Hardee’s.
The big day was Friday, Sept. 16.
When Jack walked in the door of the new Hardee’s at Highway 101 and 141st Avenue North, he was greeted by company officials and given a Hardee’s hat. He got a full tour of the restaurant and was given two hot ham and cheese sandwiches and a biscuit, his mom said.
The entire staff welcomed Jack as the first customer.
“It just made his whole day,” she said. “He literally was beaming.”
A ribbon cutting was held at the Rogers Hardee’s on Monday, Sept. 19, and a check for $500 was presented to the C.R.O.S.S Food Shelf of Rogers.
The restaurant, which employs about 50 people, is owned and operated by franchisee MRG Management out of Brooklyn Park. The Rogers location brings the number of Hardee’s restaurants they own in Minnesota to 15.
MRG Management was also the original owner of the Elk River Hardee’s, which was located at 927 Highway 10 and is now closed.
“It was a difficult decision to relocate it to Rogers,” said Leah Pidde, MRG Management marketing manager. “We are hoping that this move will make it more conveniently located for our guests.”
The staff at the Elk River location also relocated to the Rogers store, and Pidde said they have seen many Elk River Hardee’s regulars at the new location.
MRG Management is owned by Mike Hoff and Dave Glodowski. For more information go to biggerbetterburgers.com.
