Soccer: Rogers girls nip Monticello 2-1
The Rogers Royals eked out their 18th straight conference win, 2-1 over Monticello there Tuesday.
Scoring for Rogers (2-0 conference, 5-4 overall) were Gabby Moter (Courtney Stutelberg assisting) and Kirsten Heikkinen on a breakaway. Heikkinen’s goal broke a 1-1 tie in the second half. Jacqueline Zoubek was in goal.
The Magic (0-2, 5-4) got a penalty kick goal from Hillary Arechigo, while goalie Kallie Gau made 10 saves.
Rogers will play at Elk River on Saturday at 11 a.m.
