Rogers and Andover battled to a 0-0 tie in regulation and finished in a 1-1 deadlock after overtime on Thursday evening in Rogers.
Grant Morrissette scored for Rogers in the fourth minute of the first overtime, assisted by Mitch Steeves. The Huskies scored in the second minute of the second overtime (name not available).
“They took it to us in the first half but we had a lot of opportunities after that,” said Rogers coach Chris Miller.
One shot (by Mike Biah) spun on the line but wouldn’t cross it. One shot hit the crossbar and another hit the post. Another open shot was hit too soft and knocked away.
Miller cited Kyle Bogart and Kenny Johnson with leading a good defensive effort.
The Royals are 1-6-1 and Andover is 4-3-1.
Next for Rogers is a home match vs. Grand Rapids on Friday, 5 p.m.
