Cross country: Elk boys 5th at St. Francis meet

Eighth-grader Lucas Trapp led Elk River to a fifth-place finish among 12 teams at the St. Francis Invitational on Thursday.

Lucas placed seventh and his brother Ryan, a junior, was 13th overall and second on the team.

“Lucas is obviously one of the top eighth-graders in the state,” said coach Mike Niziolek.

Blake Thompson (27th), Breck Hickman (38th) and Fanaka Ndege (46th) were also in the top five.

Next for the Elks is the Roy Griak Invitational at the U of M on Saturday.
