Rogers senior Andrew List, a veteran race car driver, earned a nice hat trick in Wisconsin the weekend of Aug. 27-28. He had two Forumula Continental class wins and set the record for the fastest race lap at the Milwaukee Grand Prix, held at the Milwaukee Mile track.
List qualified sixth among 14 in the first race even with the wrong gearing, said his father, Jim. A quick change of second, third and fourth gears gave him a better pace and he dropped his lap times by fie seconds per lap. Among five cars running nose to tail most of the race, he placed fourth overall and first in his class.
Post-race, the team changed fourth gear to improve top-end performance and lengthened the diffuser shrakes to enhance cornering speeds.
On Sunday, List dropped another second off his best Saturday time and qualified fifth. The top five cars were covered by 0.8 seconds and again ran nose to tail. He took second place with six laps left when another car stumbled, and held second overall and first in his class, while posting the fastest lap, 1:10.72.
The team left Milwaukee with a mathematical lock on the FC Central Division Regional Championship.
