Tennis: Elks roll 7-0 over Blaine

Elk River stayed unbeaten in conference with a 7-0 victory over Blaine at home on Tuesday.

Becca O’Connell and Hadley Purdy at No 2 singles completed the shutout by coming from behind for a marathon win capped by an 8-6 third-set tiebreaker.

Michaela Schulz at No. 1 singles handed Mary Swanson her first loss 6-2, 7-5. They are teammates on a USTA team.

The Elks are 7-1 overall and 4-0 in conference. They will host Coon Rapids on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
