Soccer: Royal boys fall to Champlin Park 4-1
The Rogers Royals are still looking for their first win after losing to Champlin Park 4-1 at home Saturday.
The Royals (0-6) got the first goal as Brady Johnson finished a strong shot by Isaac Aanerud that almost went in.
The Rebels got two goals from Sidney McLain, with Ramada Hassan and Immanuel Morris adding one each. The score was 1-1 at the half, and the Rebels pulled away with three in the second half.
The Royals were missing both their returning all-conference players as Grant Morrissette is dealing with a concussion and Kenny Johnson was at a wedding.
“We got tired in the second half, without those two guys,” noted coach Chris Miller.
Rogers missed three good opportunities, Miller said, two of them on corner kicks and one on a breakaway.
Rogers will play St. Cloud Tech on Monday at St. Cloud State University, 7 p.m.
