Swimming: Elk River edges Armstrong 95-91

Elk River opened conference play with a 95-91 victory over Robbinsdale Armstrong at home Thursday evening.

Armstrong had the winner in eight of 12 events but the Elks had a little more depth.

Event winners for the Elks were Courtney Grunewald (butterfly and backstroke), Allison Schwab (breaststroke), and the medley relay team of Jessica Young, Schwab, Grunewald and Taylor Odegard.

The Elks (1-1) will swim at Centennial on Thursday.
