Richard C. Survis, 83, of Zimmerman, formerly of St. James, died peacefully at the Elim Home in Princeton Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011.
He was a retired master sergeant with the Air Force, a long-time member of the Zimmerman American Legion Post No. 560, retired from Palm Tool as an inspector.
Mr. Survis enjoyed his lake home, where he taught his children to enjoy the outdoors.
His funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. today (Saturday, Sept. 10) at Dare’s Funeral Home, 805 Main St. N.W., Elk River; 763-441-1212. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Bellwood Cemetery, Zimmerman.
Mr. Survis is survived by his children, Sandra (David) Czoske, Daniel, Nancy (John) Fridh and Kathi Survis; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine (Don) Schultz; brothers, Don, Bob (Trudy) and Tom; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Della; son, Paul; brother, Jerry; and sister, Doris Bullard.
His family prefers all memorials go to the ALS Foundation.
