Nikki O’Keefe was productive all around the rotation as she sparked the Zimmerman Thunder to a 21-25, 25-11, 25-21, 25-15 win over the Princeton Tigers on Tuesday evening.
The junior outside hitter notched 12 kills and eight digs, put up 15 assists, and served 16-for-16 with two aces.
Brooke Borchardt delivered 10 kills and 9 blocks including 6 kill blocks. Jenae Mettling made 8 kills and 5 digs and served 19-for-19 with two aces.
Cassie Ortberg added 2 kills, 6 digs, and 3 kill blocks; Abby Kratzke 12 digs;
Amanda Meleen 15 assists; and Emily Garmen 4 kills and 8 digs. Garmen was the top serve receiver.
“Princeton has become a very good volleyball team,” noted Thunder coach Rita Belka. “They have two outstanding hitters that kept us working. Overall it was a great match. The girls played hard and fought through with a lot of heart.”
Zimmerman will play at the Pine City tournament on Saturday.
