Burglars go to work on Labor Day weekend

This past Labor Day weekend the Rogers Police Department received three reports of attempted or actual burglaries.

The Elk River Police Department is also following up on a burglary that occurred Friday night.

The first burglary in Rogers occurred early Saturday morning at Dunn Brothers Coffee. Forced entry was made and no items or money was taken.

The second burglary occurred on Sunday morning between 9:30am and 2 p.m. at a residence on Jessica Drive. Forced entry was made and approximately $1,400 in electronics and jewelry were taken.

A third attempted burglary occurred sometime between Friday evening and Monday evening at a residence on Willandale Road. Suspect(s) used forced to attempt an entry; however, the alarm system scared them away.

All three cases are being jointly investigated by the Rogers Police Department and the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office.  If you have any information regarding any of these burglaries’ please contact the Rogers Police Department at 763-428-3450.

Elk River Police also took a burglary report after it responded to an alarm call at Kennedy Transmission, 269 Carson St., at 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 2.

The lock on a door to the business was removed, and the business appeared to have been entered but nothing was missing, according to Elk River Capt. Bob Kluntz.
