Tennis: Elks top Maple Grove in NWCS opener 6-1

The Elk River tennis team opened Northwest Suburban Conference play with a 6-1 win over Maple Grove there Thursday.

The Elks (4-1) were supposed to open conference Tuesday against Coon Rapids but it was rained out and moved to Sept. 14 at home.

They will host Park Center on Tuesday.
