Park Center scored 15 seconds into overtime and handed Rogers a 3-2 non-conference loss on Saturday in Rogers.
Kuesta Dube got the go-ahead goal as he capped off a breakaway down the sideline by Park Center, and the Pirates made the lead stand through two five-minute extra sessions.
“We are still figuring a few things out,” said Rogers coach Chris Miller, whose team lost 2-1 against St. Francis on Thursday. “These were both tough losses, both games we thought we should have won. We lost a lot of the middle guys we had last year and we are trying to figure stuff out there.”
For Rogers, Peter Rerick scored in the 34th minute, ripping the shot from the 18-yard yard mark after it bounced around a bit. Kenny Johnson tied the score 2-2 in the 64th minute with an eye-catching goal. He had his back to the net at the 18-yard mark when he fielded a crossing pass from Mitch Steeves after a corner kick, spun around and drilled the ball past the goalie. That tied the score 2-2.
Andrew Bentz was the Rogers goalie until he was shaken up in a collision with a Park Center player midway through the first half. C.J Rich played the rest of the game.
Rogers will host Totino-Grace on Tuesday.
