Volleyball: Royals nip Saints 3-2 in opener

The Rogers Royals won a close 5-game match over St. Francis in their volleyball opener on Thursday evening.

The Royals prevailed 24-26, 25-20, 23-25, 25-17, 15-13 at St. Francis.

Abby Folk, junior libero, was a spark with 20-for-21 serving and three aces, 25 digs, and 25 serve-receives.

Bre Westberg made 17 kills, Jordyn Motter 14 and Lizzy Meyer nine. Maddie Schaeffer provided 28 set assists and Sam Kalthoff 17. Joelle Stanger led with 45 serve-receives.

Rogers will play at Zimmerman on Tuesday evening.
