Kristofor “Kicker” Shannon, 36, of Zimmerman, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011.
He was born Nov. 28, 1974, to Kurt and Barbara (Schultz) Shannon in Edina. He grew up and was educated in Elk River. Following his high school graduation in 1993, he attended college in Moorhead on a football scholarship.
He met Jacqueline “Jackie” Rubner in 1998. They made their home in Zimmerman where they were raising their daughters. The family enjoyed spending time together jet skiing at the lake, having bonfires and making s’mores, working on homework or just hanging out. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball, riding 4-wheelers and being of help to anyone in need.
Mr. Shannon went into a business partnership with his brother-in-law, Jeremy. Together they owned and operated Wall II Wall Painting and Finishing since 2001.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, Aug. 23 at the Zimmerman Evangelical Free Church. Interment was at Orono Cemetery, Elk River. Arrangements were entrusted to the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home of Princeton.
Survivors include his fiancée, Jackie; daughters, Madison and Molli; parents, Kurt and Barb Shannon; sister, Lisa (Sherwin) Long; grandparents, Ken and Berne Shannon; father- and mother-in-law, Duane and Lynn Rubner; sisters-in-law, Samantha (Jeremy) Long and Heather Rubner; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
His grandparents preceded him in death.
