Insurance will cover lightning strike July 23 in Zimmerman

The city of Zimmerman has filed a claim with the city’s insurance company, League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust, over a lightning strike that occurred on July 23 at the Fourth Avenue water tower.  The city’s public works director, Dave Horvath, said the strike entered the water treatment facility and damaged some electronics, totaling repair expenses of approximately $9,000, to be reimbursed by the insurance company, above the city’s $2,500 deductible.
