Tyler Stevens and Chelsea Schlegel were the first-place finishers in the 12th annual Big Tooth, Sweet Tooth Run that drew 160 runners at Woodland Trails last Saturday.
Stevens, 2010 ERHS graduate attending UM-Duluth, finished in 16:40 to lead the men. He was followed by John Kallemeyn 16:45, Michael Finnerty 17:07, Jesse Castro 17:32, and Hunter Koppf 17:20.
Stevens won the 16-20 group, Kallemeyn won 21-34, Denny Green won 35-44 with 19:02, Luke Charpentier won 45-54 with 20:35, Micah Johnson won 15-and-under with 22:44, and Mike Sandusky won 55-plus with 25:11.
Schlegel, Zimmerman junior-to-be, led the females with 20:14, followed by Victoria Janasz with 20:33, Christi Nowak 20:41, Jill Varty 20:56 and Kate Tavalky 21:11.
Schlegel won the 16-20 group, Nowak won 21-34, Tavalky won 34-44, Varty won 45-54, Gabriella Jung won 15-and-under with 23:42, and Sheila Eurich won 55-plus with 25:55.
In team competition the YMCA squad led with a total time of 1:56:32, followed by Fitness 101 with 2:04:44 and Anytime Fitness of St. Francis and Zimmerman with 2:14:24.
