Woman, 46, arrested for pushing people
A 46-year-old Ogilvie woman was arrested for domestic assault after allegedly pushing her husband and sister-in-law.
Police were called to the 13300 block of 181st Lane on July 24 to take the assault report.
Driver, 43, of Elk River, arrested for DWI
Elk River police arrested a 43-year-old Zimmerman man for DWI after a July 23 traffic stop in the 20100 block of County Rd. 13.
The driver was observed going over the center line, tailgating and weaving within his own lane. He blew a .20 blood alcohol content (BAC) on an Intoxilyzer test.
River jumpers called on at 101 bridge
Elk River police were called to the Highway 101 bridge on a July 23 report of juveniles jumping into the river from the bridge. Prior to arrival a conservation officer was in the area and reported juveniles were now on the Wright County side.
Suspects make off with items after theft
A 38-year-old woman reported her vehicle was broken into sometime after 12:30 a.m. on July 23 in the 500 block of Freeport Avenue.
Allegedly taken were a black purse, a global positioning system and an iPhone. A suspect allegedly then attempted to use the complainant’s TCF check card at The Home Depot in Elk River.
The suspects were described as about 5 feet, 5 inches tall — one being thin with a white tank top and the other was heavyset with a gray and white striped shirt. They were seen leaving the home improvement store in a red two-door Mazda with a red spoiler.
Fog line offenses lead to DWI arrest
A 24-year-old Columbia Heights man was arrested for DWI on July 23 after reportedly crossing the fog line three times and being pulled over in the area of Highway 10 and Highway 169.
Lack of turn signal leads to DWI arrest
A 51-year-old man was arrested for DWI on July 22 after being stopped for failing to signal a turn.
The traffic stop investigation led to the driver being arrested for 4th degree DWI. The stop happened in the area of Waco Street and Highway 10.
Stop for speed leads to DWI arrest
A 23-year-old Otsego man was arrested July 22 for DWI after he was stopped for speeding in the 19000 block of Jackson Street.
The driver was cited for 3rd degree refuse to test, 4th degree DWI and possession of a small amount of marijuana.
Parents ask for girl to do community service
A juvenile girl will be doing community service for the Elk River Streets and Parks Department.
One of her parents reported to police on July 21 she had vandalized the walking bridge that stretches across Highway 169. She had written “I will never forgive you” on the bridge with some “puffy paint” that was not easily taken off.
The juvenile’s parents requested that the girl be required to clean it off. Police agreed. The girl will not be charged with the crime.
Wheel and tire stolen from parked vehicle
A 30-year-old Elk River woman reported on the morning of July 21 a wheel and tire were stolen from her parked car overnight on the evening of July 19.
It had been in the 300 block of Evans Street. There was no apparent damage caused to the vehicle during the theft.
Phone stolen before mom’s eyes at salon
A woman reported her daughter’s cell phone was stolen at a nail salon in the 18000 block of Zane Street.
The complainant reported that she witnessed the theft, but did not realize it was her daughter’s phone being taken. Phone service on the phone has been cancelled since the July 21 theft and the store was made aware.
Driver took issue with traffic stop procedure
A motorist took issue with police after she was stopped for a traffic violation.
She was upset with an officer’s use of emergency lights and a spotlight while making the stop. She told two officers that she would be contacting Sen. Al Franken and stopping in to see a an Elk River Police Department patrol captain about her concerns.
The traffic stop happened at 13077 Orono Parkway in Elk River.
‘Signs’ of something not quite right
Elk River police were called to the 11200 block of 196th Lane on a report of juvenile males climbing on street signs shortly after midnight on July 21.
Upon arrival, police saw two individuals run south on Zane Court from 196th Lane and then lost them. They were located hiding in a backyard.
Both individuals were recognized and cited for minor consumption.
Elk River man, 24, arrested for DWI
A 24-year-old Elk River man was arrested for DWI, driving after revocation and failing to signal his turn shortly before 10 p.m. on July 25 in the 19200 block of Highway 169.
He was stopped for speed and failure to signal a turn.
Woman, 40, arrested for DWI (on a flat tire)
A 40-year-old Elk River woman was arrested for DWI after police were called to a report of a vehicle in a ditch on July 19 along the 20400 block of Highway 169.
While en route, police were updated that the motorist was driving on a flat tire. Police stopped her and arrested her.
