Hassan approves funds for new truck

Hassan Town Board supervisors approved $30,000 for the purchase of a new pickup at a reconvened town board meeting Monday, July 18.

The 2001 pickup currently used by the town’s public works department has 97,000 miles on it. Mounting repair costs prompted the purchase approval.

Public works supervisor Bill Boetner says the size of the pickup allows winter plowing on trails where no other vehicle could fit. It also is valuable, he adds, in clearing snow from cul-de-sacs.
