Updated: Parties escape serious injuries in crash

Amy Lee Carlson, of Isanti, rolled her 2008 Hyundi Elantra Monday night in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 169 in Elk River, but she managed to escape without serious injury.

The crash happened at 7:25 p.m., according to a spokesperson for the Minnnesota State Highway Patrol. Few details are available about the crash as of yet, but the most remarkable aspect may be that the 26-year-old woman walked into an ambulance to be evaluated.

She could be seen sitting in the median between the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 169 across from the parking lot of the Elk River KFC as emergency crews spoke with her.

The occupants of a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix, the other vehicle in the accident, did not sustain any injuries either. They are Jade Abney, 19, of Princeton, and Jonathon Bursch, 18, of Elk River were in the Pontiac.
