Burglaries, thefts reported in Elk River
ERHS concession stand burglarized
The outdoor concession stand at Elk River High School was broken into sometime overnight on July 10 or 11, according to Elk River Police Capt. Bob Kluntz. The west door was broken into and the interior was damaged but nothing appeared to be missing.
Smoke Shop burglary investigated by police
The Elk River Smoke Shop, 19112 Freeport Ave., was burglarized on July 10. Suspects forced their way in through the back door, and also attempted to gain entry into Pilgrim Cleaners, which shares a common rear entrance.
The keyholder said all cash was accounted for and nothing appeared to be missing.
Theft from detached garage reported
An Elk River man reported that in the last three weeks someone entered his unlocked detached garage in the 19000 block of Lander Street and stole items, including a welder, ice auger, tackle and golf equipment. He reported the crime on July 9.
Copper theft reported
Scrap metal was stolen from a collection point at Elk River Municipal Utilities facility in the 1700 block of Main St. The theft, which is believed to have happened sometime between June 20 and 23, was reported on July 8.
