Three teenage Rogers golfers, led by medalist Jordan Rykal, qualified for the Minnesota State Open at Wednesay on their home course, Fox Hollow.
Ryker, McCabe Buege and Colton Buege are set for the state meet July 22-24 at Rush Creek in Maple Grove.
Rykal, a senior-to-be at RHS, won with a 3-under-par 69. One stroke behind was McCabe Buege, a 2011 graduate headed for Central Florida. Buege tied Northern Iowa junior-to-be Yarri Brynn at 70.
Taking the fourth of nine available spots was Colton Buege, who red-shirted as a University of Minnesota freshman this year. He shot 71.
Rogers was state high school co-champion with Wayzata this spring, and runner-up behind Wayzata last year. McCabe Buege was state individual runner-up this year. Rykal was the No. 3 player for the Royals.
