Baseball: Rogers Legion has 1-8 mark
by Bruce Strand, Sports editor
A young Rogers Legion squad is 1-8 after losing to a formidable Wayzata lineup 18-8 on Wednesday evening.
“Wayzata had five college players, and our average age is 16.1,” mused Rogers coach Dan Terres, whose son Michael, who’s going into ninth grade, is the starting catcher.
Another son, senior-to-be Will Terres is the top hitter, batting over .400. He had two singles and two doubles against Wayzata. Dillon Morris, lefthanded senior-to-be, is the primary pitcher.
The lone win was 9-2 over Annandale.
Most of the seniors on the high school team did not come out for the Legion team, so the lineup is mostly next year’s juniors and seniors.
