Subway employee robbed at knife point

A Subway employee who closed down the restaurant at 13501 Business Center Dr. Sunday night was allegedly robbed at knife point.

Elk River Police were called to the fast food restaurant about 10 p.m. that night. The victim told police her assailant threatened her with a knife and pushed to the ground before fleeing on foot.

The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash that he took from the victim.

Wright County K-9 was called to assist and tracked a male suspect to an area business’ front doors. Elk River Police  arrested the suspect, a  19-year-old Princeton man.

Kluntz told the Star News authorities continue to invesigate and will be doing forensics work as part of their investigation.

Kluntz said the man who was arrested was expected to be released without being charged.

“We are confident in the facts that lead us to the suspect arrested, but need to continue to follow up on this case and let the forensic evidence confirm the facts we have already gathered.”
