Baseball: Dassel-Cokato trips Pioneers 6-3
Three Dassel-Cokato pitchers worked in and out of trouble as the Saints defeated the Elk River Pioneers 6-3 Wednesday evening in Dassel.
The Pioneers left 10 runners on base.
“We just can’t seem to get that clutch hit,” said manager Ken Ott after his team fell to 1-13.
Lucas Larson threw six innings for D-C (11-1) and got the win, allowing two runs, strikinout out 10. Kyle Kaczomak threw two innings and Jordan Danielson one. 11-1), tBrandon Opsahl was 2-for-4 with a triple and RBI.
Jake Braun was 2-for-3 and Aaron Daugherty 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Jim Brown took the loss, pitching 6 2/3 innings, allowing four runs, striking out four. Tony Jarmoluk pitched 1 1/3 innings allowing two runs.
Elk River plays Mound at Loretto Thursday at 7::30 p.m.
