Elk River’s Kaitlyn Roche has been chosen as a first-team all-state softball player by both the St. Paul Pioneer Press and the Coaches Association.
The Pioneer Press had this capsule about Roche, a senior center fielder, in its all-state article on June 9,
“Played error-free in the outfield and batted .520 in helping the Elks to a runner-up finish in Section 8AAA. Scored 22 runs and had 18 RBIs. ‘She catches and dives for balls that are well out of others’ range,” Elks coach Stacey Sheetz said. ‘Her plate presence is second to none.” Said she hopes to play at Minnesota-Duluth next season.”
