Harry Lester Bedard, 22, formerly of the Elk River area, was killed in action April 3, 1945.
He was born in Greenbush Township on October 3, 1922.
Lt. Bedard was a Bombardier Navigator with the US Army Air Force. His B-25 crashed on the Cebu Islands, Philippines.  His remains were identified by the JPAC Laboratory by DNA in April 2010.
He was the son of John and Clara Louise Bedard and brother of Lawrence, George, Raymond, Rose, Wilfred, Lucy, Bernice, Ethel, Bob, and Gene.  He was uncle to twenty-two nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 25, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 18380 Columbus Street, Dayton, with visitation from 9-10:15 a.m. Interment will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery with full military honors. Arrangements were made by Dare’s Funeral Home, Elk River, 763-441-1212.
