Peacock becomes homeless bird

A foreclosure in Elk River that forced a family out of its home has left a peacock homeless — at least for a time.

Elk River Police were called on June 9 about a peacock residing at the vacant residence in the 19700 block of Ulysses Street. Police made contact with the peacock’s owner, who thought an unknown neighbor’s relative was going to pick up the bird. The owner was given until June 10 to have the peacock removed.
