Lora Arnott has been hired to replace Carl Jacobia as the director of special services.
The Elk River Area School Board approved her appointment on May 23.
Arnott is from Fairbault Public Schools where she served in a similar position. She has 25 years of experience in education.
She holds a master’s degree in speech and language pathology from the University of Minnesota, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology and in speech and hearing science from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. She also holds Minnesota Principal K-12 Administration, Special Education Administration and Pre-K–12 Speech Therapy licenses.
Jacobia is retiring. Arnott is scheduled to start her new post on July 1. She will be paid an annual salary of $115,000.
