Baseball: Pioneers lose to Maple Lake 7-0

Jeremy Schmidt tossed a three-hit shutout as Maple Lake cruised 7-0 over Elk River at Maple Lake on Wednesday night.

Schmidt struck out six while the Lakers (3-1) pounded out twelve hits, with Chad Raiche going 3-for-4 with two doubles, four RBI, and two runs.

The Pioneers (0-5) managed three hits, singles by Lance Johnson, Tony Jarmoluk, and Pat McCarthy as they were blanked for the third time.

Conor Edwards took the loss, throwing four innings, and allowing five runs. Jake Braun gave up two runs in three innings. John Certa pitched one inning.

Elk River hosts Rogers on Saturday at 2 p.m.
