Refuge hosts bird, wildflower events
Learn about birds and wildflowers at two upcoming events at Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge near Zimmerman.
•Bird Tour: 7-noon Saturday, June 4. Join veteran guides Doug Stucki and Barb Kull to learn more about the songs and calls of warblers, sparrows and other avian residents of the Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge. This tour is free, and open to the public. Meet at the Blue Hill Trail. The trail head is located along County Road 9, approximately six miles west of Highway 169. The tour includes walking and driving. Participants will be able to leave the group at any time during the morning. •Wildflower Tour: 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, June 11. Meet leader at Old School House parking lot, located along County Road 9 approximately 5 miles west of Highway 169. The tour includes walking and driving.
