Baseball: Rogers trips top-ranked Minnehaha 8-4

Will Terres led the attack and Blake Schermer pitched the distance as the Rogers Royals beat a top-ranked Minnehaha Academy team 8-4 on Friday evening in Cold Spring.

The rest of the St. Cloud Invitational, slated for Saturday, was rained out.

Terres was 3-for-3, scoring two runs, and driving home three. Austin Barbeln was 2-for-4 and Bjorn Bloom 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Schermer allowed just two hits and two walks in the five-inning game.

Minnehaha Academy (13-2) is ranked No. 1 in Class 2A, as listed by Minnesota Sports Online.

Rogers finished the regular season 6-12 and will start Section 5AAA playoffs Thursday at Coon Rapids. The Star News does not have the pairings yet.
