Skies cleared for ERHS grand march

The skies cleared just in time to make for a successful Elk River High School grand march.'s

A rainy afternoon and stormy evening did not put a damper on student’s plans at the Elk River High School’s Soiree in the City prom on May 21.

The sun came out and the rain ended just in time for grand march, held in the Elk River High School’s gymnasium.  Students lined the front lawn to gather for group pictures before heading indoors to flaunt their dazzling gowns and tuxedos.

Nicole Smith, a junior at ERHS said she was looking forward to dancing the night away.  She was also very happy about the clouds clearing up just prior to grand march.

“The sun came out just in time,” said Smith.

Professional portraits were available to students from Lommel Photography in the lobby before grand march began.

Family and friends packed the gymnasium to show their support during grand march.  Once seating ran out, people lined the floors to get a glimpse of the couples.  Grand march began with an introduction video from the Prom Squad on large screens on both sides of the gymnasium.  The screens also served to show a live video of students as they walked down the decorated aisle in the gymnasium.

Once students completed their grand march walk, an assortment of vehicles awaited them outside to take them away to enjoy a memorable evening.  Bob Cox from Total Luxury Limosine, Gary Rossow from Accent Limousine Service and Dale Pepper from Premier Limousine enjoyed the sun as they stood outside waiting to take students to the cities for the evening.

Students enjoyed the rest of their evening with dinner and dancing at the International Market Place in Minneapolis where their dance has been held for the past 20 years.
