Retired Air Force major to address Memorial Day crowd
Mark Reitter, a retired United States Air Force major, will give the Memorial Day address on May 30 at the Lions Park bandshell.
The program is set for 10 a.m., and it will include a presentation of awards from the American Legion Auxiliary, the V.F.W. Auxiliary, the V.F.W. Post 5518 and the American Legion Post 112.
There also will be an invocation, prayer for POWs and those MIA and a reading of the Gettysburg Address.
An Honor Guard rifle salute will be performed at the base of the Lions Park flagpole to honor those deceased veterans in the air, on land and at sea. Brian Gardner, the American Legion commander, will read the roll call of the deceased.
The Elk River German Band will provide entertainment afterward.
