Frank P. Miller, 70, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, of leukemia.
He was born Jan. 2, 1941, in Little Falls, to Lawrence and Anna (Sonoski) Miller. He moved to Elk River in the late 1970s and began working at the Fullerton and River Valley lumber yards. He worked in the maintenance department at the Guardian Angels Care Center from 1995 until retiring in June 2007. He also worked part time at St. Andrew School until 2003.
Mr. Miller was an avid fisherman for many years and a dedicated Packers football fan. He was always willing to help someone in need. He liked to do wood working and was a people person.
Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, May 14 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Elk River. Interment was at Otsego Cemetery. Dare’s Funeral Home in Elk River served the family.
Mr. Miller is survived by wife, Helen May; brothers, Jerome (Laurie) of Ceylon, Bruce of Arizona, and Harold (Doreen) of Cold Spring; sisters, Joyce (Don) Selg of Mendota Heights and Celina (Jim) Gill of Rockville; special aunt, Sister Bernarda Sonoski of Flensburg; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, one sister and brother.
Memorials are preferred to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
Roy C. Pearson, 91, of Robbinsdale, formerly of Elk River, died Thursday, May 12, 2011.
Mr. Pearson was a World War II Air Force veteran, retired from the University of Minnesota and was an outdoorsman.
Private burial took place at Trout Brook Cemetery. Dare’s Funeral Home of Elk River made the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Ruthie.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
