Foreclosure counseling offered to community

Fannie Mae and the Minnesota Home Ownership Center are teaming together with housing counselors statewide to provide a new service for homeowners with Fannie Mae loans struggling to make their monthly mortgage payments, seeking loan modification or other resolutions.

Lutheran Social Service Financial Counseling Service, the largest statewide provider of foreclosure prevention counseling in Minnesota, has helped many homeowners with Fannie Mae loans find fast solutions to their unique situations.

“This is a big step forward for many Minnesota homeowners who are falling behind or facing foreclosure and don’t have time to wait for lengthy resolutions,” said Ruth Hutchins, housing counseling supervisor with LSS Financial Counseling Service.  “Using a new tool to facilitate loan modification applications and other resolutions, we can find the best solutions within weeks.”
