The Rogers Royals had a frustrating game at the plate in a 3-1 loss to Monticello on Monday.
“We hit the ball everywhere. We struck out only one time, but could not find the seams, and ended up dropping a close one,” reflected co-coach Dan Ohlgren. “As long as we continue to hit the ball hard, good things will come.”
Danielle Yohnke pitched a three-hitter with one walk for Monticello. Kelly Watson had two doubles and two RBI.
Rogers hurler Christina Hajder struck out 10, and gave up just five hits and a walk, in a tough-luck loss. Jo Baker was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Leah Perrault 1-for-2.
The Royals are 3-10 in conference and 4-10 overall.
