Baseball: Big hits lift Thunder over Big Lake 9-8

Big hits carried the Zimmerman Thunder over Big Lake 9-8 at home on Monday.

Brandon Giese slammed two home runs, driving home four runs. He was 2-for-4.

Luke Schmidt hit a bases-loaded double, driving home all three runners, and got a fourth RBI on a single.

Kam Crandall also homered, a solo.

Giese pitched three innings, allowing five runs. Crandall pitched three innings allowing one run. Kyle Connelly pitched the seventh, allowing two runs (unearned).

The Thunder are 5-8 in conference and 6-8 overall. They’ll host Princeton on Tuesday.
