Track: Elk boys 5th in true-team sectional

The Elk River boys placed fifth among 10 teams in the Section 4AAA true-team track meet at home Tuesday and Wednesday.

Elk senior Michael Graber was 3rd in both shot put (50-6 1/2) and discus (131-1).

Michael Graber was third in both shot put and discus.

Senior sprinter Cory Chouinard took 4th in long jump with 21-1, a personal-best by two feet, while taking 4th in the 100 (11.75) and 5th in the 200 (23.20).

Tim Peterson 4th in the 110HH (16.1) and 7th in the 300IH (42.60); Ryan Trapp was 7th in the 800 (2:05.66) and 8th in the 1600 (4:43.74); Fanaka Ndege was 12th in the 400 (53.59) and 9th in triple jump (40-0); and Dallas Erdahl was 11th in the 3200 (10.29.50) and 11th in the 1600 (4:48.50).l

The 4-by-100 placed 2nd in 44.26 and the 4-by-800 placed 4th 8:39.01.
