Golf: Elk boys 3rd in NWSC meet at home as race tightens


The Elk River golfers placed third in a NWSC meet on their home course Wednesday, tightening up the conference race.


Osseo shot 304, Anoka 318 and the Elks 322, followed by Maple Grove at 328, in the 10-team meet at Elk River Golf Club.


The Elks, who’ve won five straight NWSC titles, are tied with Osseo with 40 team points, with Anoka right behind at 39, after four of the six conference meets.


Leading Osseo were Dalton Charboneau with 74, Tylr Looner 75 and Ross Miller 77.


For the Elks, Chase Hahne shot 76, John Butler 79, Ben Erickson 83 and Garrett Turnacliff 84.
